Ooh, uh oh! Lucy found skunks to be unfriendly, too. Twice this summer. We used 1 pint hydrogen peroxide, 2 T. dish soap, 1/2 cup baking soda. Mix in gallon jug so it can foam up. Lather well into dogs coat of one very stinky dog, rinse and bath with regular dog shampoo. This worked well, but I did notice a slight reminder odor when she got wet again later on. Takes time, but this cuts that odor off the dog very well. So sorry you all had to meet a skunk.
Thank you Kim! Her fourth bath was with the mixture you describe. She still smells to high high heaven! We've tried it all including a product called SkunkOut. Today I ordered Fresh Wave Pet Shampoo that's supposed to help cut the skunk odor. P.D. got a direct hit on her chest mostly, hubby said it was dripping!! Moe
